Before you get in touch

Frequently Asked Questions

Everything most clients ask before their dog's first stay. If it's not covered here, drop James a message on WhatsApp, he's usually quick to reply.

What parts of London do you cover?

We provide daily daycare collections within the following London areas:

  • Chelsea
  • Knightsbridge
  • Belgravia
  • Pimlico
  • Westminster
  • Kensington

If your area isn't listed, please ask. For longer home-boarding stays we may be able to travel further across London, so do get in touch.

How long will my dog spend travelling?

Our catchment area is kept deliberately small, so no dog is ever in the van longer than they need to be - we turn away plenty of enquiries that fall outside it for exactly this reason. Collections are early in the morning and drop-offs in the evening, always timed against the flow of traffic so everyone gets picked up and home as efficiently as possible.

The drive to and from our countryside property is around 55 minutes, and our specialist vehicle is insulated, ventilated and genuinely comfortable for the journey.

How does the daycare membership work?

Daycare runs as a membership, chosen by how many days a week suit your dog, from two through to five, and paid in advance. See our Pricing page for the current options.

Why do you charge a fixed fee for daycare?

Your monthly fee reserves your dog's regular place with us each week, rather than paying day by day. Much like a children's nursery, our staffing, transport and running costs stay the same whether or not your dog attends on a particular day. This is what lets us guarantee your dog's regular days, keep staffing consistent, and deliver the reliable, high-quality care our clients expect.

Can I book an ad hoc daycare day?

Yes, when there's space. Our members take priority, so ad hoc days are subject to availability, please get in touch as early as you can.

Can I change my dog's regular days?

We'll always do what we can to help, but we can't guarantee it. Regular spaces are limited and held for the dogs who attend them each week, so a change depends on space being available on the day you'd like to move to. Just get in touch and we'll see what's possible.

Can I visit before I book?

We don't offer casual visits to the farmhouse ahead of a booking. As much as we'd love to show every dog around in advance, a stream of new visitors tends to overexcite the group, and it isn't fair on the dogs already settled into their day.

Instead, we open the farmhouse up from time to time, so keep an eye on our Instagram and Facebook for open day announcements - a much better way to see the place, meet James and get a proper feel for how everything runs.

Once your dog does join us, we make a point of sending photos and videos from their first couple of days, so you can see exactly how they're settling in - we know how much each dog matters to their family.

Can I try a day before I commit?

Yes. We offer a trial day at a reduced rate with no commitment to join as a member afterwards - an easy way to see whether daycare suits your dog before deciding on anything longer term.

We take video footage throughout the day, so you can see exactly how your dog gets on; the walks, the other dogs, the whole rhythm of a day at the farmhouse, from the comfort of your phone.

Do you accept puppies?

Yes. We welcome puppies as soon as they're fully vaccinated. With our experience, we make sure they get proper structured naps alongside their playtime, and because our groups are smaller than most daycares, we're able to give puppies one-to-one attention that really helps their social development.

What luggage does my dog need for daycare?

We have everything in-house; a huge selection of beds, bowls, toys and leads. We use our own leads so nothing of yours risks getting lost or damaged.

You're welcome to provide food if your dog is prone to an upset stomach or is a fussy eater; all diets are catered for. There are plenty of snug beds to choose from, and sometimes a friend they'd rather share one with.

Rest assured - there is nothing that you need to provide as it is all laid out for your ease and your dog's comfort and wellbeing.

What will my dog's routine be?

Each day suits the dogs joining us. We're fortunate to have the space and the fields for it, so some will enjoy long country walks, while puppies and older dogs get a gentler day around the house, shorter walks, and plenty of cuddles.

Collections07:00 - 08:30
Drop home17:45 - 19:00

We're insured to hold keys and for dogs to travel in our vehicles. We care for dogs 365 days a year, but aren't open for pick-up, collection or drop-off on weekends and bank holidays.

Will my dog come home muddy?

Typically not. We do our best to keep everyone clean. We dry them off thoroughly before heading home on wetter days. A bath and blow-dry can also be added on if you'd like your dog to come home extra fresh.

Do you accept un-neutered dogs?

We don't encourage neutering before a dog reaches sexual maturity, so entire dogs are welcome up to that point. Once a male is sexually mature, though, we're generally unable to accept him if he isn't neutered - in a group setting, entire males can scent-mark, become a nuisance to other dogs, and are more likely to be targeted by other entire males in public spaces.

This is something we manage case by case, and we do make exceptions for some dogs, particularly those who've grown up coming to us.

Where do the dogs sleep when boarding?

All dogs sleep in our farmhouse under the round-the-clock supervision of James and his live-in team. Every dog is free to choose their own favourite spot - a bed, a sofa, wherever suits them - for a real home-from-home feel. For dogs who are crate trained, we're happy to set up a crate if that's what they prefer.

What luggage does my dog need for boarding?

For boarding, all you need to bring is your dog's collar or harness - we'll use our own lead for outings. Beds are made up fresh each day, and there's no shortage of toys, treats or food waiting for them.

If it would help them settle for their first stay, feel free to bring along a blanket with a familiar smell from home. We'd rather not take in personal toys or treats though, simply so we can be sure nothing gets chewed by another guest, and there's enough to go round the whole group.

What happens if I request my dog home earlier than booked?

The full stay remains chargeable, as we'll have planned our staffing around it and boarding spaces are limited, so that time can't usually be given to another dog at short notice.

Are you open at Christmas and bank holidays?

We operate 365 days a year for boarding. Daycare is closed on weekends and public holidays, and also over the Christmas to New Year period, though we remain open for a limited number of boarding guests throughout.

How do I pay?

Daycare membership is billed monthly in advance. Any ad hoc extra days are added on and billed together at the end of the month.

For home boarding, 50% of the total is payable in advance, non refundable, two weeks before your dog's stay begins, with the remaining balance due on the day your dog goes home.
